XP: Any Evenflo car seat users here?

Starting to shop for a convertible seat for DS and have narrowed it down to either the symphony, triumph or momentum.  Which would do you have/would you recommend?

  • I have the symphony...and I LOVE it!!! it has the "snap claw" things so you just hook it right in. SO easy. Plus DS seems to like it.

  • We have the Triumph for DD, and have been very happy with it. I really love the adjustable straps and the tension knob. I do wish it had a higher RF limit (only 30lbs in Canada), which is why we went with the MyRide 65 for DS instead of another Evenflo, but we did look at them first. The Momentum didn't really offer anything that made it worth the extra money over the Triumph, and I've heard some people say the 3-in-1s don't always provide the best fit, so we'll just get a backed booster once the kids are out of the harnessed seat (I think it'll be a while yet).

  • We have the triumph in DH's car, and I liked it fine until we got the Sunshine Kids Radian for my car. There's nothing wrong with the triumph, I just think it's easier to get DD in and out of the Radian, and it fits better in my car (plus it's rear facing to a higher limit and takes up less room forward facing).

  • We have the Triumph and really like it. I love that the shoulder straps can be adjusted without removing the seat and rethreading. The knobs on the sides make it really easy to adjust. Its a big seat and DD seems comfy in it. I thought it took up a lot of space RF, but doesn't seem bad at all now that its FF.

  • We have the Symphony and the Triumph and like them both. DH says he likes the knobs to tighten the straps on the Triumph better than the Symphony but the Symphony is easier to move to a different car because of the Sure Latch.

THIS!  I think it's call the sure latch (ancors under the seat in cars never then 2001 or 2003 I think).  It's big, but SUPER comfy, soft and easy to break down to put in the wash.  ALSO, you can use is from 5 pounds - 100 pounds so you'll never have to buy another carseat again.

  • We have the Symphony and Triumph. We're very happy with both. We spent a lot of time looking and definitely preferred them to the other brands, including Britax.

We got the Triumph when DD was still RFing and I found it hard to release the belts in that position. So when we needed one for the other car, we got the Symphony, which is essentially identical except for the belt tightening/loosening. I did find it easier RFing. But once we turned DD FFing, it made no difference. The Triumph was just as easy. In fact, we now prefer the Triumph belt system.
