That's not true. It's not always clesr. In fact identical twins are common to hide behind each othrr. Especially since her uterus is tilted and not at a normal positioning it's even more common for a twin to hide. I am pregnant with twins and we saw them really clear but then she couldn't find the one again...The next ultrasound could only see one. Then after that they were there again. Early ultrasounds do not always pick up twins. I don't know why mom's who saw THEIR babies think everyone has the same experience. Every mom should know there are rarely any rules to pregnancy! Here's a pic of my twins at 10wks
It's is not virtually unheard of...and if they are identical they might not have seperate sacs yet. They share a sac and hopefully with develop a thin membrane to become mono di twins. Which is safer. Only fraternal twins have seperate sacs and placentas. Sheesh this is like common knowledge

Yikes, there is so much misinformation here where do I start? Pretty much every single thing you wrote here is dead wrong. Sacs don't separate later on, the thin membrane is either there or not. Di-dis can be fraternal or identical.
Please do some research before you pass off "common knowledge" as fact.

Andplusalso, your newb status is showing...this is a 3 year old thread you bumped up. The OP's post was so jumbled I wouldn't be surprised if she completely misunderstood what her tech and OB were saying back then because she wanted twins. Hidden twins can happen, but it's far less common than people think. It's one thing to miss twins at 5wks, entirely different at 10+.

I, honestly, really didn't understand your post but I had a hidden twin at our 9 week ultrasound that was discovered at 17 weeks. Yes, it's very possible and twins don't have to run in your family for you to be pregnant with twins. When people ask me if they run in my family, I smile and say, They do now!

I was thinking the same thing though. A lot of the replies sound very vindictive. I can make out what she was saying with her narrative. And a missed twin does happen.

Most of you women on here sound like a bunch of sour bi tches. No manners
@Ashmoney2 name calling is against TOU and a ban-worthy offense. If you don't end up banned but end up sticking around, grow a thicker skin and don't resurrect posts that are years old.

Yeah, 1 in 3 sets of identical twins have their own sacs and placentas. Sheesh ...
