Is there anywhere on the site, or anywhere else I can get info to inform myself before I go to my 1st dr appt.? Some of the stuff people are talking about on here is waaay over my head.
I think the book Your Pregnancy Week by Week is pretty good. I would recommend getting that and reading up to however far along you think you are. It tells you want to expect at dr's appts. in different stages of your pregnancy, etc.
I looked all over when i first found out i was pregnant (it was unplanned). I have no experience with pregnancy at all..
There really isn't anything out there that fit my situation. There are some books for women over 35 that are trying to get pregnant.. but really nothing for us "holy crap how did this happen?!!" ladies.
There are some general pregnancy books that give you basic info about what to expect, but none of them really give you the full gammet of symptoms, what to expect due to age or other age related health problems putting you at high risk.
I mean... who the heck knew that blooding gums was something normal for pregnancy? And why didn't anyone tell me that my arthritic knees are totally screwed due to hormones meant to loosen my pelvis for delivery?
Maybe we should get together and write a book =p Although I'm guessing there's not much of a market for one, which is why i couldn't find anything.
Re: Resources for 35+ moms?
Congrats on your BFP(s)!

If you're curious about the various tests and procedures, this site has a decent explanation:

I really haven't experienced a need for anything age-specific. The generic pregnancy information has all been applicable.
It may help if you clarified what sorts of things were over your head. None of us at any age know this stuff automatically.
