Speaking of Bday Invites

Does anyone actually RSVP to you guys or are my friends and family the only ones that don't?

Re: Speaking of Bday Invites

  • Nobody will ever RSVP. I always plan for extra people.

  • So far, just from our grandparents. I sent a separate FB invite, and that has yielded more responses (especially from my cousins and a few aunts). Different generations. To be honest, I was TERRIBLE at RSVP'ing until our wedding. Heck, I'm still not great about it.
  • Most people don't, and it fires me up everytime I have something.  Stop being lazy and pick up the damn phone! argggg  People always say, well of course I am...well no, certain people I do not just assume they will be there...

  • I don't know why but it seems that more often people will let you know when they canNOT attend something than when they can, so therefore I started putting "Regrets only to 123-4567" on our invites, and it turns out that this does produce a more accurate head count (at least in my experience).

As of Ava's last birthday party, I have been putting "Facebook RSVP to follow" on the bottom of our invites (everyone we invite is on Facebook though) and then a week or so after invitations go out I send a seperate Facebook event with additional details about the party (menu, directions, etc.) and everyone can RSVP attending or not attending.  This worked out perfectly for the party last year.
