I've been lurking here for awhile, but this seems like a good time to introduce myself, so here goes.
My daughter Betsy is just shy of nine months. She's our only kid. I BF (I started supplementing just a bit when B was 7 months old) and we just started finger foods a couple of weeks ago. I'm a working mom and B goes to a daycare that we adore (and they adore her). DH and I have been together ten years and will have been married for four years in June. We have two redbone hounds named Scout and Katie Sue, hence my screen name.
All of my close bumpie friends are on 3-6, so that's where I normally post.
And I'm intimidated by Yankee the way a freshman girl is intimidated by the hottest guy in the senior class. I've had a bump crush on her for ages. There, I said it.
I'm new-ish to this board. I tend to stay out of drama though so I haven't been posting much.
I hate to admit it but I'm a puppies and rainbows kind of girl most days. I should also admit I've been lurking here and reading 1st birthday posts since DD was about 6 months. I'm a little obsessed with it.
You can plan DS's party - I don't even want to think about it.

you have to promise to be nice to them, at least at first. you are intimidating.
This. I've been scared of you since 0-3 months.
Nothing scary about me. I guess you just moved over. Hi.
I've been here for a little while - I just don't post a lot.
A little about me - I have been married since 2009, work from home and spend most of my free time shirking responsibility so I can lurk on the Bump.
I also have 2 rescue dogs, run and do yoga.
Yeah I shirk a lot to post here too. I'm a cat person but kind of rescue dogs do you have? I could never get into yoga but I wish I could. I have 15 pairs of yoga pants.

I am a lurker but i guess i should probably introduce myself. I am an accountant and work full time. My daughter Lillian is going to be 9 months next week. When I'm not working and taking care of her I enjoy reading, cooking, scrapbooking and crocheting.
I'm a lurker, I just never knew the right time to jump in. I guess now is! I am a SAHM to 3 which is somewhat new so I am still trying to adjust. My husband is a chef so he works on average a 15 hr day, 6 days a week so I normally use the bump for company when the kids are asleep. I will try to be more active instead of lurking in the shadows.
Now's a good time to jump in and post more! Does your husband make you gourmet meals or is it like the shoemaker's kids?
Normally no, but he has been on a healthy food kick lately so he has been making some pretty yummy stuff. Plus he would never admit it but I know he doesn't particularly like when I cook because I am not very good at it.
I'm a terrible cook and even the baby spits out what I cook.

I came over about a week and a half ago. My name is Jenn, I'm almost 33, been married for almost 4 years. I'm a Corporate Office Manager (aka boring 9-5er) and DH works security for UPS. I used to ride a motorcycle but sold her when I found out I was PG. Now I'm enjoying a different kind of ride

lol, you have a while to go before the party!
I know! The funny thing is I've never cared much about this kind of thing before. I was only engaged for 10 weeks but I didn't really care about planning a wedding. I will offically be planning DD's party longer than I planned my wedding! LOL

Mine too. It's not that I'm sad she'll be turning one, but I just don't want to plan it, clean for it, cook for it, or do anything for it except get a fun new outfit for her for it. If only I was a Beverly Hills housewife and could pay someone to do it all for me.
I've only recently been board straddling. DD is only 8 months, but I'm a rebel like that. I consider myself more of a Nestie than a Bumpie though. I just can't talk about babies all day long, even my own.
I'm a raging liberal, married for almost 5 years, one child, two dogs and usually enjoy board drama but the last couple weeks' saga really bored me. I did the whole "jump to an off board" thing years ago from the Knot, so I'm confident the Bump isn't going anywhere just b/c of a mass exodus. Plus, I have no real ties to anyone around here, so there's no love lost.
woot. We need more raging liberals with nest connections around here. What boards do you frequent?
I'm a Pets regular, Politics (though I'm not nearly as wise and eloquent as Irish, so I wouldn't call myself a regular poster) and Money Matters regular lurker/sometimes poster. I used to be much more vocal, but work has picked up in the past few months-so I actually have to do things that warrant my paycheck;(
Have you been on Pets for a long time? Your screenname sounds familiar. I hung around there in 05/06, maybe into 07. I am a hardcore politics lurker, but very rarely post. I find I have more of a Nest personality, but I haven't gotten into any of the boards lately.

This! Do you think that it would be tacky to just buy some cheap booze and rent a grove at a park?
I just started lurking on 9-12, but am still straddling between here and 6-9. DS turns 9 months Tuesday, so we're pretty much there.
I've been married since June 09, and we also have a king charles spaniel named Dexter. I work 15 hours a week at a job I love in my field (web site architecture and design) and we have a nanny to watch DS while I'm away. My husband is an active duty naval officer, a previous submariner on shore duty, so we've had a crazy past few years. He was actually deployed 6 months of my pregnancy, so that was rough, but at least it's behind us. I love to read about interior decorating, party planning, and I teach ice skating off and on. I also love to travel and reading about different places!
I'm not intimidated by you either, Yankee. I like reading your posts.

Ha! The ONLY thing I've done for the party is to start a guest list to see how much beer I'll need to buy. And the only reason I've done that is b/c of some fight on here about having alcohol at a one year old's party-I was curious to see how much I was going to have to spend on it!
I am a lurker but i guess i should probably introduce myself. I am an accountant and work full time. My daughter Lillian is going to be 9 months next week. When I'm not working and taking care of her I enjoy reading, cooking, scrapbooking and crocheting.
I've posted here and there but I'll introduce myself too. I'm a SAHM with an 8 month old, Jules. I'm a School Counselor but have had no luck finding a job for the last 3 years and am bitter about it. I'm 27 years old and have been married for 3 years and have a 2 y/o chocolate lab. I live in Upstate NY and am really tired of the cold weather and would love to get outside and take a walk!

I think off and on since 2006. The dog in the middle of my sig was my heart dog we lost last May. I started posting on there b/c he was diagnosed in 2006 with Addison's disease. They all really inspired me to get involved with rescue and have taught me a lot over the years. Of course, they've also turned me into a judgemental crazy pet person. Eh, you take the good...
I guess technically I'm new, but mostly because I lurk only. I've posted a few times with actual questions about baby related stuff, but that's about it. I always like to see if there is someone posting something I can relate too. I have a 9 month old son and an almost 3 year old daughter. Sometimes I check out the 24+ months board but a lot of those kids are younger than mine.
I'm a SAHM now, but I want to go back to work (accounting). I've been home since my son was born in May, and I'm ready to go back. But, finding a true family friendly workplace is my goal, so I'm being really selective. I've been married for almost 6 years, I went to Penn State, and my favorite color is red :-)

Wow. A lot of lurkers coming out of the shadows. I've been lurking on these boards for quite a while and would like to start posting more as I think DH and I may start working on DC #2 here shortly. We've been married for 5 years and I enjoy reading, hiking, and travel. I am probably one of the least crafty people alive, but I do enjoy checking out other people's creations on these boards, some of you are crazy talented!

I'm not "officially" over here yet. DS turns 9 months on March 11th. But I've been posting here more than 6-9. My life is far from exciting so I don't have anything fun to share. I work full time while DS goes to daycare (which he just started and is having a hard time adjusting to), I've been married for 4 years to my high school sweetheart and we have 2 cats and a pregnant dog.

Thanks! It stinks to not be able to find a job, but I'm glad to have this time with Jules. The nickname is what convinced us to go with Juliana

I'm not new. I just don't post much here. I'm part of the crew that was on NEY back in the day and moved to AFB which prompted the knot to change the name to Snarky Brides. When the new format sucked, we got banished to the Caribbean, and now we're on Relationships.
I'm here officially now, but was board straddling for a few weeks.
I'm a SAHM to identical twin girls. I got laid off from my big corporate job during maternity leave (had planned to possibly return part-time and work from home), and decided to take the opportunity as a chance to spend time with my girls! It's really hard, but I'm glad I'm home and don't plan to go back any time soon.
I love to cook, hate to clean, am an Academy Award FREAK, and hate living in NJ as I'm a born and bred New England girl. The only part of NJ that suits me is the sarcasm and no mincing words mentality.

Um... because another dog knocked her up. I don't know why that is ew but ok??
If anyone wants to get to know me I'm 21, DH and I have a daughter (9 months old on March 1st) and DH has another daughter (6 years old) from a past relationship. We have a house and a dog and cat named Milo and Otis. I love scary movies, I love singing, I'm an outdoors person, my favorite color is pink, and my favorite animal is a horse.
I'm Laurie. Mom to Alyssa, 12 years and Cason, 9 months (Saturday). I'm a business analyst for a large scale construction firm. I'm also 1 class away from finishing my MBA! I love to read and my Kindle is my new BFF. I breastfeed and cloth diaper to the surprise of everyone who knows me. I shop online way too much. My job has taken me to so many wonderful places and my last assignment was on the World Trade Center rebuild where I got to live in Manhattan for 3 years (off and on for 2, full time for 1). Its probably my favorite assignment thus far.
We have 2 dogs, a boxer and a beagle and a cat named Harley. I haven't cooked in a year (the hubs does all the cooking) and I don't miss it. I do wish I had a talent.
We are a baseball family and we LOVE the Yankees. My great grandfather actually played for the NY Highlanders (pro team back in the day) and my husband played through college.
Ok, thats all for now...looking forward to all the new posters
