My FIL is paying for DH and I to go to a "Weekend to Remember" marriage conference. They went a few years ago and really enjoyed it, so now after someone in the family gets married, he offers to pay for them to go. Ours is coming up in March and I was just wondering if any of you had ever been to one. Obviously FIL would be a little biased if I asked him what it was like lol. I'm just wondering what to expect. I -should- be ovulating right around the time we're on the trip, so maybe it will really be a weekend to remember

That sounds great! You perked my interest for it so I googled it quick and found the website that tells you all about it. It looks like something that all married couples would benefit from no matter how long you have been married. I'm going to look into it more, but here is the website I found.

I hope you have a great time and learn some very valuable tools to help you and your H grow your marriage together.
Its AWESOME!! DH & I got this as a wedding gift and went about 6 months into our marriage. I will say it is very Christian based so if that't not your thing...well just be warned. We had a somewhat rocky 1st year adjusting to things and just figuring out what worked for us which kind of surprised us since we had been together for so long before getting married (4+ years). Either way this retreat was a great get-away weekend for us! Our church requires you to do extensive counseling before you get married before our pastor will marry you. Much of what we did in our counseling was also talked about during the conference which was great for us b/c it was the refresher that we needed to set us back on track.
Each session was really good, the speakers are dynamic and kept our interest the whole time. I really liked that they had a session of splitting up the men and women and discussing the Christian role of a woman in marriage and the Christian role of a man in marriage. Some of the speakers were also husband and wife teams which was nice to hear both perspectives. I can remember they did a session on children/pregnancy/etc. that was really good-- I would definitely recommend it and if DH and I had more money we would totally give this away as a wedding gift to friends. Highly recommended!! PM if you have any other questions!
