Flip Flops are bad!

Ok so Sunday the weather was great so me and my DH decided to get out of the house for awhile. I thought we were just running to our walmart in town so i threw on a pair of thin flip flops. Well turns out we went to the next big town over and went to the mall, lowes, babies r us and walmart. Flip Flops were such a bad idea. My feet hurt so bad along with my ankles. I woke up crying last night from the pain in my toes. It will deffinately be a sneaker summer.

Re: Flip Flops are bad!

  • When I was pregnant with #2 I got a pair of Teva Mush flip flops. They are pretty supportive for sandals. I know people rave about Reefs too, and crocs actually makes really comfy flip flops, if you can get past them being crocs.

My feet wouldn't fit into my tennis shoes anymore after month 6 with the last pregnancy and they weren't really even that swollen, so I'm not betting on wearing anything but flip fops this summer.

  • Flip Flops are God's gift to swollen feet! :) Especially in the summer, my feet sweat in sneakers.

I wish I could wear mine out now, but it's too cold, lol.

  • I never could wear them anyway. They just aren't comfortable for me. I have a nice pair of leather sandals that are my fave!

  • Usually the 1st few times I wear my flip flops my feet have to get used to them.

I couldn't imagine wearing sneakers through out a whole summer never mind a pregnant summer!  Good luck!! Smile

  • RAINBOWS! They are the best flip flops ever. They're expensive but they have arch supports and they're soft and durable. They even have a lifetime warranty, if they ever break just send them back and they send you a new pair. I have a bunch and they're really popular out here in sandal land California!
  • I have a pair of Reef flip flops that I love! You can get them for a good price on Amazon.

Meh, flip flops aren't nearly as bad as smoking.

  • Flip flops are actually the worst shoes you can wear, support and comfort wise. Of course your feet hurt. You might as well be barefoot.

I can't let it go because you seem to think it's okay.  I, along with everyone else gave you great ideas and support reasons on why you need to quite ASAP.  I'm sorry that you felt attacked, but you did write in your first sentence that you knew you'd be getting the tsk tsk and the proverbial lashing.

I read that thread a few times and not one person personally attacked you-as in calling you names or putting you down.  If you think you were being treated harshly, then please don't ever post anything more controversial.

For your information I know its not ok and I have not had one since and though you may not have attacked me I think calling my husband a dominate freak is offensive. I think you are rude and find yourself better than other people.  I also think its childish to keep bringing it up when it has no affect on you and the thread itself had nothing to do with it. I have not had one since noon yesterday and I plan on keeping it that way.

  • I love flip flops, but I will never wear them again.....I had so many pairs...you know, casual flip flops, dressy ones.....I was really a flip flop girl.

Last year, I fell down the stairs at school (a flip flop accident)....I broke 6 bones in my foot and dislocated the metatarsals on the top of my foot.  I had 2 surgeries, and was in a cast for 3 months....and am still in physical therapy.....my orthopedic surgeon says flip flops keep him in business.

Just be careful out there in your flip flops.....

  • So back to my feet hurting. I simply can not believe they hurt this bad from one afternoon in flip flops. It feels like they are constantly about to cramp up and its been two days. Dunno what I did but so not fun.
