Cloth Diapering

Amazing trick with cloth wipes!!!

I just found a video in a blog about cd'ing and shows you how to fold your cloth wipes so that you can put them into a disposable wipe box and have them pull out just like disposable wipes.  You may already know the trick (or maybe you made the video!)  Either way, I was really excited about it, but I'm a newbie to all of this and get excited easily by all things cd now! hahahaha!! :-)

  • I did this, once.  It took way too long to do.  It's easier for me to just keep the wipes in a basket with a spray bottle next to it and I wet them as I need them.  If I had more time, I would probably do it, but with working full time I just don't have time for it.

  • We do this and keep them wet in a wipes warmer with this kissaluvs wipe solution drops (love this too keeps the musty smell away, and I love the scent).  I love doing it, and find it takes no more time than stacking or folding them.  However, the baby now loves to pull them all out when I'm not looking, so they end up in a stuffed-in pile more often than not. He gets such a kick out of it, it is hilarious to watch him, so I guess I forgive him-lol

  • Haha I figured that out on my own at the beginning and thought it was genius!  Now I'm lucky if the wipes make it in the warmer haha.

  • You all are probably right, I'm sure once my LO is here and I'm using them, that they will just get thrown in a basket and I'll grab them as I need them.  BUT the thought of doing this just seemed so genius! Smile

  • yup!  we do this.  I figured it out early on and it only takes about 2 minutes.  I wet them with water and put in the disposables container.  I can't imagine fussing with a spray bottle at the changing table....to each their own

  • I might do this for daycare. I've done it before, but didn't use my wipes much because they were DIY and I didn't like them.

  • question about doing this... when you do the fold is the pile too narrow to be in the wipes box, cuz isn't it kind of like folding the wipes in thirds instead of half?  I haven't bought my wipes warmer yet and used DW with DS.  Would it be better to have longer wipes that fit in better when trifolded?  am I over-thinking this?
