I'm debating between these 2 baby carriers. I like that the Beco has the options for the babe to face in or out, the color options, also that you don't need to purchase a separate infant insert. My concern is if it gets hot to wear. We want a baby carrier that would be good for hiking and outdoor events like music festivals. I have heard people complain that the original and organic Ergos get really hot to wear in the summer, but that the performance is comfortable and breathes better. Does anyone know how the Beco compares in terms of heat for the parent wearing it?
Re: Beco Gemini vs. Ergo Performance
I have an organic ergo, and it is warm right now in a southern California winter (highs of 70+). I don't plan on using it during the summer. Honestly I think most baby carriers will be hot during the summer, but the performance at least was designed for warm situations.
Boba is another option, it is on sale on Zulily.com and will be on sale at Heavenly Hold. These are such a good price ($60), you might want to try this brand first to make sure you'll like using a carrier.

(Also, I loved having a moby wrap for when LO was little.)
We registered for the Ergo Performance AND the Bjorn Comfort for when baby gets bigger. I will wear the Ergo and the Bjorn is for hubby....I couldn't get the bjorns to fit me right....
Beco is recommended highly by BB though...behind the Ergo but still looks like both are great!! Go try them on and see which one you like better!
