I held DD2 in the tub tonight with the big kids and she loved being in there with them, but my back didn't love bending over the tub so long. I was trying to think of a seat that could be used (with me still right there of course). Do Bumbos have any holes that water would enter? Are the bottoms non skid? Any other safe suggestions?
Thanks!
Re: Can a bumbo be used in a bathtub?
When we got our bumbo I read the warnings and it said not to use it in the bath... I'm not sure why though.
That makes sense, thanks.
Yeah we tried it too. If you have a helper who can hold it down the whole time it would work ok. But if you have a helper you don't really need the bumbo...
Yea. I was given a used bumbo from a family member. Tried it in the tub, and it would float with just a few inches of water. Totally unsafe!
Had I a warning to read, I'd not have tried this.
No.
In fact, I'm pretty sure it says on the bottom of the bumbo not to use in water.
You could get a bath 'ring' or whatever they are called. I've seen them at BRU on and off. Like this: https://www.amazon.com/Juvenile-Solutions-Thermobaby-Bath-Ring/dp/B000ILEOVC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1297218108&sr=8-1
