Anyone see a chiropractor for sciatica?

I have my next appointment with the midwife on Monday and I am going to ask for a referal to help with my sciatic pain that is going down my left leg.  It hurts to walk and I can't even lay on my sides because of the pain.  The midwife has always said when I was ready for it she would make a referal for phyical therapy or a chiropractor.  I guess what I want to know is which would serve me better.  I am leaning towards a chiro but I thought you ladies would have a good perspective too.  TIA.

  • My chiro has been an absolute GODSEND for sciatic pain (and other underlying problems with my back). I would absolutely recommend seeing a chiro, but make sure they can accommodate maternity patients since not all chiropractors do.

  • I had sciatica during my pg with DS1. I went to a chiropractor from about 14 weeks on during my pg with DS2, and it was great, I had barely any pain from that pg. Hope it feels better fast for you!

  • Absolutely!!! You will need to go more often at first, then taper off. It will be worth it and you will feel better, and your body will also be aligned well for baby to be in a good position for birth.
