I think we've agreed on a name. We don't know the sex yet, but we find out shortly and wanted to have a name for each sex ready to go so we can start calling him/her by their name right away.
We love the name Adley and went back and forth about whether it was better for a boy or girl, and finally decided, that's our name for either! Maybe. ![]()
So your opinion...
Adley Grace for a girl
Adley James for a boy
Open and honest please. ![]()
Re: Adley
I picture so many people repeating back, "Hadley?"
I like Hadley for a girl. Like pp's suggestion of Adelaide.
Agree, first thing I thought was that it sounds like a Newfie trying to say Hadley.
I agree that people are going to think "Hadley?" when they see/hear it.
I think that Adelaide and Adlai come off as much more "finished."
I like Grace and James as middle names. Do keep in mind that these are among the most common middle names out there--perhaps because they complement so many names really well!
I don't like Adley. I think it is kind of bizarre to like the same name for a girl and a boy. I just can't imagine choosing one name that I thought was pretty enough for a little girl and masculine enough for a 40 year old man trying to make a career for himself.
Also...did you make that name and spelling up? Because it seems made up. THUMBS DOWN.
Adley looks like you mis-typed and left out the H. It sounds like a person with an accent trying to say Hadley. It's like naming your child ennifer or essica.
why do people keep saying it sounds like hadley? is hadley even a name? and a unisex one? wow, that's terrible. i have never in my life met someone named hadley. so ugly! a little girl named hadley? do the call her "had?"
adley's awful too. for a girl, adele is pretty. for a boy, try adam.
I agree with pp for a boy I would go with Adlai. I don't like it for a girl. I woud consider Adele, Adelaide, or Ada for a girl.
I'm not really sure why you posted though since you said this is the name you are going with regardless. GL!
i went to high school with a girl named Hadley and she was absolutely beautiful.
I'm not a fan (for a boy or a girl, regardless of spelling). Sorry.
I love pp suggestion of Adele. Both of your mn's are great.
Here are some other options (just in case):
Girls: Ada, Adair, Adalia, Adeline, Adina, Audrey, Adriana, Abigail
Boys: Adam, Abram, Adrian, Andrew, Aidan, Aaron

I'm a big fan of Adlai, however!
