Mommy's day out suggestions?

I have been really down in the dumps and after seeing H's surgeon for the post op today, I feel even more down.  (He's fine, the timeline just keeps getting stretched out longer and longer every time we see the surgeon.)  I am trying to take off tomorrow and Friday for my sanity.  I am going to drop Eli off at daycare and my in-laws had already agreed to stay with H the rest of the week so I could work and I don't think they would mind too much.

I think I will probably hit up Barnes & Noble on the levee and drink some Starbucks and read tomorrow when it is supposed to be cold still, but I can't think of anything else that I could do.  Especially given the weather forecast for Friday I will be more apt to want to just get out.  I am so excited for a little warming trend!  :)  I don't want anything that requires a ton of walking thanks to back pain.  Any suggestions on somewhere I can go and have a lot of fun/relax during the day by myself?

  • Get a prenatal massage!!!  I got one at 34 weeks and it was heavenly.
  • I would totally go see some trashy movie that you know DH would never want to see with you. I miss going to the movies--once you have kids you rarely get to. We feel so out of the loop when friends talk about the most recent movies they saw and we're like "oh yeah-- we will add it to our netflix queue and watch it in 8 months" haha

I agree with Kristin about getting a prenatal massage.

The 2 times I've had a girls day to myself I've gone to Panera for lunch and get a treat afterward, then shopping then a movie since after shopping I'm usually exhausted and maybe a pedi/mani or massage mixed in somewhere. I try and take advantage of my free 24 hours  :-) Enjoy-- you deserve it!

Yeah Eli is 3.5 and in that time I think we've seen less than 5 at a theater & most of those were with Eli in the last several months!  LOL

  • I had hoped to be done with work and have at least one day to myself before DD arrived.  That didn't happen....but these are the things I was dreaming about doing....morning coffee at Starbucks, lunch at Panera, a movie, a manicure, a warm bath with a magazine.  Ahhh....I could really use that right about now.....I feel like a cow and a mean Mommy today.  Sad  Enjoy your time to yourself!!!!
