Pregnant after a Loss

Excited at 8 weeks???

this is my first time posting on this forum. I had a blighted ovum mc in July 2010. I am pg again, 8wk5dy and I am actually getting excited about being pg! I have had 2 u/s 6wk & 7wk and had a healthy heartbeat and growing baby. i know I have a few more weeks until Im 'out of the woods' so to speak, but im having a hard time keeping a secret. Im already thinking of baby showers, nurseries and other fun baby stuff. Am i crazy???

Re: Excited at 8 weeks???

  • Congratulations! I'm 8 weeks today and I think it's great you're excited. So am I (was just avoiding my work and looking up baby names online), but I know it will be a long while until I feel "safe". Welcome to the board!

  • congrats and welcome! It's a great sign you are feeling excited already. It took me until 16 weeks to really get excited and share the news.

  • Ditto pp (my first m/c was at 14.5 weeks, so I didn't feel ready to share until about 15-16 weeks this time).  I was excited immediately though and thinking positively about the whole pregnancy from early on.

    Congratulations!

  • Congratulations and Welcome! No I dont think you are crazy for thinking about all that. I will be 9wks tomorrow and have had days where I am super excited and then days where I am scared out of my witts. But I have also caught myself thinking about showers, furniture and names. I think it is great that you are so excited!
