AF/Charting question

So this is my first month charting, temping, OPKs, etc., and mainly more for practice than actual TTC. I've been reading a lot of stuff, but I figured the best people to ask would be the people who use it all the time - my fellow TTCALers.

Is there any way to tell when AF might arrive just by looking at the chart? Am I looking for a temp dip? I'm crampy and moody so I suspect she might be around the corner.

It depends on how long your luner cycle is. Normal is 10-14 days.

You can browse charts in each of our siggys to show cycles when AF showed. Usually the temp drops below the coverline is a "hint" that she might show up.

But everyone is diffrent.

I can't tell by looking at your chart if AF is coming soon, but I think you would have a temp dip if AF was there.  Maybe you have another week to go before AF comes.

My temp usually dips the day or so that I am going to get AF.  The Luteal phase after O is usually 14 days, but should be anywhere from 10 to 17 days (mine is always 13)

If you O'd where the CH indicate and are 6 DPO, I hope that AF is still at least a few days off for you!  A luteal phase (after ovulation before AF) of shorter than 10 days can be a problem when TTC - and while cycle lengths vary, the luteal phase is relatively constant for each woman (varying only by a day or two, whereas the pre-O phase can vary quite a lot). 

If I recall TCoYF says that a normal luteal phase is 12-16 days (someone correct me if I'm wrong; the book is at home).  So AF should arrive 6-10 days from now if you O'd where your CH indicate.

My LP is usually 14 days and my temp starts dropping on CD12 if AF is on her way.  It took several months of charting for me to figure that out though!
