a WWYD: cold/illness related

6 yo dd has a cold - runny nose, lethargic, etc.  No fever, but she did have one in the middle of the night (4 am - 99.7)  I gave her Tylenol at that time.  It's now 9:30.  She has the runny nose but no fever.  she says she feels "fine" but is more mellow than normal. 

we're supposed to leave for an overnight trip (one night) with other moms and kindergarten/1st grade girls later this afternoon.  I hate to tell dd we can't go (to say she's excited is like saying some kids kind of like Christmas) but that's what I need to do, right?  a little part of me says it's january, kids get colds, but I think that applies to sending her to school or going to an activity at the library - not an overnight trip.

It's just a cold, I wouldn't even give meds for a fever that low.

so are people generally not irritated by other kids with runny noses being around their own kids?  I can say that it honestly does NOT bother me.  dds could pick up germs anywhere -- I don't play the blame game --but I think others do and woudl be annoyed by that, no?

thats not a fever and runny noses dont bug me...what does bug me is the thick green snot running down their faces...clear snot is fine with me.

Runny noses don't bother me a bit. As long as you bring plenty of tissues and hand sanitizer have a good time.

Runny noses don't bother me and that's not even really a fever in my book. I'd still take her. Most moms I know don't really get worked up about a runny nose, as long as it isn't thick and green or something like that.
