All our family names.  Siblings are Cecilia and Charles.  I would love to use Vincent for the first name, as it was my late father's name.  Unfortunately, our 10 year old dog is Vincent (we didn't name him!), so that is out, as much as it breaks my heart.  Do you think it would be bad to use it as a middle name?  I just feel like I should honor my dad somehow.  Thanks!

If you really love the name Vincent, I say go ahead and use it. Not to sound crass, but your dog won't be around forever.

Vincent is my favorite here, but John is so ubderappreciated these days. I know a handsome little boy named, John and it works so well.

I would use the name, Vincent, as your first name. The dog will die eventually, right?! Out of the names you have there, I love John Vincent the most. Vincent is one of my favorite names. I say go for it. Vincent John.

"James Martin" and "Vincent Alexander" have been on our list for forever....so I'm a big fan of your naming style!

I think James Vincent sounds great. I like James a lot more than John. The name "John" always reminds me of a toilet.

I actually like the sound of James Martin the best, but the other two sound just fine.  If you want to honor your dad, just do it.  The dog won't mind, unfortunately the dog is already old.  You can always start calling the dog one of his nicknames or just change it's name to something similar.  https://www.dogtipper.com/tip/2009/04/renaming-your-dog.html

I really like James Vincent - goes so well with Cecilia and Charles!  However, I don't think that you should turn away from using Vincent as a FN.  You could always start calling the dog something similar to Vincent - Quincy, maybe?

I think both sound great with Charles and Cecilia.

I really like the idea using Vincent for your father, either as a middle name or as others suggest, as a first.
