I really like the name Brayden. I am Irish and have an Irish name as well. I have liked this name for many years now before the whole "y" trend that everyone talks about on here started. Do you think its a name that has gone bad now because of this Y trend. Its not supposed/originally a trendy name because its an ethnic name. It really is spelled Braden in Ireland and I would be fine I guess with spelling it that way, but then I feel like everyone would be like why does he have the word Bra in his name and would people mispronounce it all the time saying Bra den?
I also do like Brendan so that will be on my list too, but is more common then Brayden.

Brenden hands down
*Edit* I read Frank Delaney's "Ireland" and wasn't Brenden a major historical figure in Ireland... I believe a saint?
I know popularity is regional, but I know of at least five baby Braydens (spelled like that) and am personally soooo tired of this name.
My vote is for Brendan...similar, but a refreshing alternative to the obnoxious "-ayden" craze.
Ok thanks,
I have liked Brendan since a little girl...I only knew 2 Brendan's growing up...I have not heard a lot of people naming their child that lately, but maybe I am out of the loop.
I see where your coming from with the ayden craze..which is wanst a craze..when I first like Brayden this whole ayden thing was not around like it is now.

I agree. Brendan is much better.
If you know one Brayden, and 2 Aidan's, and a Caydence and a Hayden and a Caden and 3 Jadens. It all starts to sound the same. Your kid will still be one of nine instead of one of two.

Yes, blueridge...Brendan was a Saint in Ireland....
The boy's name Brendan -ren-is pronounced BREN-den. It is of Irish, Gaelic and Celtic origin, and the meaning of Brendan is "prince". From the old Irish personal name Br?anainn. Saint Brendan of Ireland (sixth century), known as "the Voyager", is famed for his scholarship and adventurous traveling, including a seven-year voyage to a land that some think may have been North America. Brendan of Birr was another sixth-century Irish saint. The modern Irish Gaelic form Breand?n and the Anglicised form Brendan are based on the medieval Latin form Brendanus. Brendan is way better.
But I don't get the problem with Braden. The word Bra is also in Brayden and only a total idiot would think Braden is pronounced Brah-den.
Ditto. Braden is definitely fine as a spelling, it looks so much more stable to me. I also really like Brennan, just as an other option (not a big Brendan fan, though).
