Parenting after 35

Spelling, reading?? No, surely not.

LOL... but it sure seemed like it. My mom gave Maddie these two little Leafrog toys that sticks to the fridge for Christmas. One has a slot for one letter and it says the letter and the sound it makes, in a little song and the other one has 3 slots so you can build words. She brought it to me and was saying, "OW-EE". I checked her to see if she was hurt, and there was nothing... Then I flipped the toy over - and she had placed O W E in the toy. I guess, technically, that doesn't spell "OW-EE" anyway - but it gave me pause. I am sure it was coincidence, but it was funny.

Oh, and she loves these things and I recommend them if you don't mind battery toys. She plays with them quite a bit. These aint your Grandma's fridge magnents.

  • Nice!

You never know, some kids are just readers!  My mom claims I had somehow taught myself by the time I was two... So maybe!

Cute!! It is a catchy little tune. I guess I might not think so in a few months though.

  • We have that too...the one with the puppy & the letters. It does help keep her busy while I am cooking.
