I am giving DS a snow day.

It's snowing heavily, school starts in half an hour, DD is still in bed, and from looking out my window, the roads suck. DH spun out on the way to work, and I don't have a 4WD car.

Making a mental list of crap to do to keep these kids from killing each other.

I was debating keeping DS home (his school is delayed and a shorter day) but I really need snow boots so I think I'll just drop him and go to the mall.  It's not actually snowing here anymore.  We got about 5".

It is still piling up outside, and all schools are cancelled today. DH is stuck home, as well...only 9:00 AM and I am already going crazy! WE are supposed to get 14 inches or more - bleah.

yep-we're all getting a snow day today...even MHs work cancelled today.  They weren't kidding about this one!

DHs car clearly needs new tires, and since he's got a Scion, the cheapest we can find is $146 EACH. Wish that's something we had investigated when we got the car.

Snowed in Ma. We have a foot and are expected to get 18in. School were cancelled yesterday, but DH was just called into work early!!! No, his job is not one of vital importance; he makes paper. He's outside shoveling and I'll be going crazy trying to keep the boys from killing each other.

All schools & most daycares are closed in the tri-county area!  Even dh took a day off.  He has an hour commute with half of it in the boonies.

DH has big plans for today....ummm honey I dont think so.

nyc schools are open today.... which it took me a long time to get home from work this am, so I cannot imagine getting kids out in it.   dc's prek is closed.

We only got about 4 inches of snow. It also started early yesterday and then quit too soon, so the roads were able to be cleared. Schools here are open.

Schools here are open, too. It's just that I've seen several posts on FB from friends who are stuck on the highway on the way to work. I decided that discretion was the better part of valor.

Can you put the list you come up with one here please?  Mine are positively homicidal already.  Stupid snow days... oh how my opinion has changed since I quit teaching!

I think that we are going to make cookies.

The longest bubble bath in the history of mankind may be in there somewhere, too. We got some bathtub finger paints for Christmas, so that should be good for 5 or 10 minutes. :-)

I'm also going to have to get out and snowblow at some point so that DH can get in to the drive later. DS freaks the hell out if I leave him inside, so I will bundle them up and hand them the sled. Between the dressing and undressing and the actual 30-45 min outside, that should kill at least an hour.
