Ectopic or missed abortion

Last Friday, I had my first appointment and u/s which I was calculated to be 7w1d based on LMP.  The doctor didn't see anything on the ultrasound.  I took my bloodwork and had a follow up today.  My betas from Friday were 4470 but still nothing on the u/s.  My doctor is diagnosis me with either ectopic or missed abortion.  I have a follow up on Thursday to see what the betas are doing.

 

Anybody else experience this?  If so, what were your options/decisions?  I have to research this but my doctor quickly went over the options...missed abortion=D&C, ectopic=some injection or surgery.

I am so sorry for what you are going through. 

I had the ectopic pregnancy and just had the surgery on Saturday night.  You are much further along than I was, I think I was only 2-3 weeks, my betas were only in the 800's.  They started dropping but then jumped up which is why they had to go to the ER.

Anyways, I believe they usually do the injection as long as it doesn't rupture in the tube.  Mine unfortunately ruptured, so I had to get the surgery.

I haven't experienced this, but just wanted to say that I am sorry you have to go through this.  My T&Ps are with you.

I recently had an ectopic but my betas were VERY low (20's and 30's).  My tube ruptured causing severe pain and landed me in the ER for emergency surgery to remove the ruptured tube.

About 4 months ago I had a "missed miscarriage" at when I thought I was 12w4d along. The ultrasound showed my baby had stopped growing at 7-8weeks. My doctors didn't really give me any options just told me since it had been several weeks I had to have a D&C the following day. I had the surgery and aside from being emotionally drained over everything that had happened I guess it went well. I was nervous but I felt nothing, they give anesthesia so I don't remember anything at all from the actual procedure. Hope this sheds some light for you..
