provera???

hi all-

my OB is offering me provera because it's been 8 weeks after my D&C after a miscarriage at 10.5 weeks and I still haven't had AF yet.  Has anyone else taken provera to jump start AF?  I don't like the idea of putting hormones in my body that way, but I'm starting to wonder if I'm ever going to get my period...

    I'm at 13 weeks since my d&e at 23w pregnancy.  I finished 5 days of provera last week with no sign of my period.  I started a 7 day course today.  I also had an ultrasound done to see the lining of my uterus (it's thick now which is good) and if this doesn't work I may need a saline sonogram to rule out Asherman's sydrome.  Which is VERY rare but considering the year I'm having, I wouldn't put it past my luck.  

    FYI, I haven't noticed a major shift in mood from the provera.  And I'm highly sensitive to any hormone (the pill etc.) medicine. 

    Mom to G 10.23.06, H 9.04.08 and a baby in heaven 10.07.10 (23w due to chromosome deletion)

    I have taken provera in the past. I didn't like the idea either but after coming off of birth control to try to get pregnant I didn't get a period for 4 months. I went on it, got a period and then nothing for another 8 weeks so then I did two months in a row of it and it worked AF came on and I started being regular again. I would say try it, it'll make you feel much better once you get a period.
