Pillows are definitely not working for me. I have been sleeping with one between my legs and just added a pillow behind my back because I have been rolling over on my back at night. Well, let's just say my back hurt more this morning than it has before. I'm wondering if I should just sleep on the couch for the rest of my pregnancy!
I've noticed that my back is stiff and a little sore when I wake up, although it doesn't bother me during the day unless I think about it. I've slept with a small pillow between my knees for the last 9 or 10 years and I'm a side sleeper by nature so I think that helps since I don't have to sleep differently.
When I take the dogs for a walk my low back hurts and no amount of stretching seems to help. It's weird b/c walking around a store all day won't do it- not sure if it's my posture when trying to keep Ludo under control (he's a puller) or the cold air right now (maybe both). It used to happen pre-pg but very rarely.

I did way too much yesterday and my back was killing me last night and today it's not so bad. I also have the Snoogle pillow and it does seem to help. Another tip is to use an ice pack. When I went to my chiropractor, before I was pregnant, she said people often make the mistake and use heat, but she gave me an ice pack and it helps alot.
The aching back comes with pg...for no reason my back ached all day a few days ago and now it feels fine. I put a pillow under my belly while I sleep and have one pushed up under my lower back while I sleep and that seems to keep me comfortable (most nights anyway.)

They were working for me up until about two days ago. I don't know what happened, but my back is all tightened up so bad, it just hurts all the time. I woke up this morning and it was worse than yesterday. I'm about to go hop in a warm bath here in a few minutes, as soon as I'm done eating, and see if I can get everything to loosen back up, because it hurts so much. =/

This!
Regular pillows do not work. My pregnancy pillow helps a bit.
Try sleeping in a recliner if you have one. It works for some.
