MH is in the Air Force. He does HVAC (heating and air). Before he enlisted he was pretty new to the field. When the economy went sour he got laid off and was unemployed for the better part of a year. It was one of the deciding factors for him joining the AF, although that is something he has always talked about doing.

My husband is an engineer. He was a project engineer working on the Expo Project (light rail transit system) out in LA. We just recently moved to Nashville( we could not stand CA) and now he is a continuous improvement engineer for a large health food manufacturing company.
Lost Lilah (Audra's twin) at 26 weeks. Cause unknown. Forever in our hearts
DH is a silversmith and lapidary specialist. He makes custom silver jewelry and custs semi precious stones and rocks for the jewelry. He is really good and it and works hard.
He does work from home but is always working. Hard to get him not to fiddle with something.
Senior Financial Analyst and materials management for a large company
It is kind of hard to explain his job and I don't think that I totally understand what he does. His division deals with precious metals. I know he manages a group of about 20 people, does some accounting, some inventory, deals with international shipping and orders of very large and expensive orders, and recently trained the guy who will be doing a similar position in Singapore.
Mine's a police officer...although he's been a D.A.R.E. officer the past few years he's going back to the road once Baby B is here (he's going to second shift, greatly cutting down on our need for outside childcare). I'm fine with it...I know he's going to be happier on the road than in the classroom all day. My dad was a cop for many years, so used to that kind of lifestyle.
I just don't like nights like tonight when one of his co-workers was in an accident, injured and then seeing all the comments from the public on the various news websites.
My DH is a cop, too. I know exactly what you mean. I don't know why I read the comments, most of the time it only pi$$es me off. Is your DH's co-worker okay?
My hubby is the COO of a medical company. He works looong hours and I'm already begging him to take some time off when I have the baby. He's a complete work-a-holic!
2009-2011: 5 failed IUIs & 1 failed IVF
2011: BFP during break from meds! Baby born healthy!
2012: 5 cancelled FET cycles due to thin uterine lining
1/13/13: FET of 2 blasts
1/18/13: BFP!
1/28/13: It's twins!!
1/31/13: ultrasound reveals 3 sacs!!!
2/6/13: 3 heart beats!!! OMG it's TRIPLETS!!!

Too many people have zero respect for law enforcement.
Yeah, she's okay...I believe she got a cut on her head. Saw the aftermath of her accident on the news last night - she rolled the cruiser, ended up upside down, hit a pole, the transformer apparently exploded, knocked out power to a neighborhood. The worst part of it all, she is a rookie, still on probation.

My husband is a police officer too, a forensic detective actually. He works one night a week and the rest on day shift which isn't too bad. I love being married to a cop but of course I worry too.
I'm glad your DH's co-worker is ok. I hate reading the comments too. People can be so disrespectful!

Wow. I'm glad she was able to walk away. We've had a few friends in car accidents on the way to calls. A Sgt. was killed last year when he hit a patch of black ice. Scary, because it's actually one of the dangers you don't really think about until it happens.
Mine is a Directional Driller for an oil company. He is living on a rig 28 days a month 24 hours a day. And he works the night shift 6pm-6am. The one good thing is that his rig is usually pretty close to the house so I am able to take him dinner.
DH is a certified chef (henced the name) who, just as of a few months ago, owns his own canning business. He decided to go that route when restaruant after restaurant that he landed were closing their doors. Products just hit the shelves at the end of Decemeber, so hopefully we'll start see the profits roll in soon! So far, the numbers are looking promising!
