What does everyone's husbands do for a living?
Mine's a police officer...although he's been a D.A.R.E. officer the past few years he's going back to the road once Baby B is here (he's going to second shift, greatly cutting down on our need for outside childcare). I'm fine with it...I know he's going to be happier on the road than in the classroom all day. My dad was a cop for many years, so used to that kind of lifestyle.
I just don't like nights like tonight when one of his co-workers was in an accident, injured and then seeing all the comments from the public on the various news websites.
Re: so out of curiosity...
DH is a high school science teacher, mostly biology and chemistry.
Mine is the manager of a big grocery store. He hates it though as his employees are often very lazy, his hours are long and he just doesn't feel like it's what he is supposed to be doing. He is looking to change jobs...we've got a few very promising leads so fingers crossed it will work out for him soon. As a teacher who loves her job, I hate seeing him so miserable at work

DH has his own Civil Engineering & Land Surveying business.
So you ever see those guys, standing in the middle of the highway, with big sticks, those are surveyors. He also does surveys for McDonalds to make sure they are ADA (handicap) compliant. Things like that.
Sometimes they also design shopping centers, and housing tracts. His work varies based on the market.
Yum. Does this mean he doesn't do the cooking at home, since he does it for a living?
H works for the fed gov't (US Dept of State - Consular Affairs) he's a manager and deals solely with passport fraud.
He's currently looking at changing careers. He has a call back interview next month to possibly become a Diplomatic Security Officer. If he gets this job (which is his dream job) we will be moving all over the world. Diplomatic Security officers work at US Embassies all over the globe to investigate passport and visa fraud and also escort/protect US diplomats while they work abroad..
So,we'll see in a few weeks if our whole world will be turned upside down... it's a pretty exciting time for us! I'd love for my girls to have the oppertunity to live all over the world.

Mine is a Sheriff's Deputy.
Agreed. I also hate when I know he's working near our house and I hear a cruiser screaming down the road. He works a lot in our old neighbourhood and I am glad I don't wake up and hear it as much now that we moved. Half the time it probably wasn't him, but it still freaks you out a bit.
