I'm 7 weeks today and I've been spotting for 2 days. Had an u/s last night but it was in conclusive. Today the bleeding is getting heavier and redder, so I'm pretty sure I know what is happening. Am I supposed to call the on-call doctor? I'm just not sure what they can do for me at this point, and I really don't want to go in to the ER again just to wait for hours and find out that there's no baby.
Also, would anyone mind describing what will happen over the next few days? How long will I bleed? Is it like a period or heavier/lighter?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance for your feedback.
Re: I think I'm having a m/c. What to expect?
I personally didn't call my doctor when my spotting picked up. I had an inconclusive u/s for both my miscarriages. They checked my betas and it was more of a wait and see. I went in for a follow up after a couple days to check and make sure everything had passed naturally.
If they didn't see anything on the u/s last night, I don't think there is much the ER can do unless you are having horrible pain. My bleeding went from light brown spotting to pink to red and then I started passing a lot of clots. It was much heavier then my normal periods. I cramped on and off and I took Tylenol consistently. How long you bleed really ranges for everyone.
I'm sorry you have to go through this.
I am so sorry for your loss. I found out I had a missed m/c last Monday, then started miscarrying naturally on Tuesday. I was almost 12 weeks, so my experience is likely to be different than yours. For me, I had intense cramping that I would actually call a contraction more than a cramp. It was so strong that I could barely talk when they came on. I would take a deep breath and try to relax during them. They would come on strong and then go away. The bleeding was heavier than anything I ever experienced with a period, but hopefully yours won't be as bad. The biggest difference was passing more clot-like blood. Emotionally, it was a roller coaster of emotions.
I went through all this on Tuesday, then had my scheduled D&C on Wed, so i can't speak to how long it takes overall. My doc told me to call/go in if I went through more than 2 pads in an hour, but I don't know if that's standard advice or not. If you call the on-call doc they help tell you what to do.
I'm so sorry you have to go through this

I had light pink/brown spotting Friday-Sunday. I went in to have my Dr. check it out on Monday where we saw a beating heartbeat and "nothing to be concerned about". On Tuesday I felt like I was urinating blood (sorry, TMI!). It was alot heavier than a normal period and was almost constant. I still chalked up the bleeding as a result of my exam on Monday and an internal ultrasound. Wednesday morning the bleeding was the same so I called my OB. Through the exam he didn't see concern for miscarriage, but the ultrasound revealed no baby
. I had a D&C that night. The doctor said if I chose to pass everything naturally it would be even more bleeding and cramping, I never had cramps.
I'm very sorry you're going through this. Hang in there!
