Re: when do you plan on starting maternity leave?

  • I'm going to start working from home 2 weeks before my due date. My first was born 2 weeks early and since my water broke with her, I have this fear of it happening at the office. I'm doing a faux ternity leave, I'm going to use some sick days and vacation for the first month and then work from home part time for 8 weeks after that.

  • I have wonderful maternity benefits since I live and work overseas (the Europeans know how to treat thier employees) and I will be working up until I go into labor and then I have 12 months paid maternity leave and I get my job back after the year is up if I want it back.

  • I'll stop work at least 1 month before my due date, if not earlier.  I have back problems and my dr said I probably wouldnt be able to work that long anyways.  I don't mind.. I get a year off.
  • With DD and with this one I will be induced 3 weeks early because of my Blood clotting disorder. So like last time I will work up to the day I go in to be induced. I want all my leave to be with the baby!

  • I'm starting a new job on the 17th and my job involves moving the company from one state to ours (because ownership is changing) and then I'm basically running it. So this means I'll be working right up until the birth and probably doing a little work from home during my 6 weeks maternity leave. The company is very family oriented though so I don't see the working from home happening very often at all, only in emergencies. I knew I shouldn't expect much in maternity leave given the situation with the company and the fact that they hired me pregnant anyway.
