Knock off wood-helper tower PIP

My dad and I did this yesterday. It took 2 hours total, he is a skilled craftsman with quality tools in his workshop. It would have taken me twice the amount of time on my own.

Julia loves it! Now what color should I paint it?

  • So adorable!  I'd go with something that might complement your kitchen.  I have a thing for red, so I'd likely go that route.

  • It turned out great!  I'd go for a bright, funky green ... just cause I like green. lol

I love red as well! I'm trying to convince my husband to paint the kitchen, I'm so over the yellow walls. I guess I need to pick something that would match whatever color I want the kitchen to be, Decisions....

  • Very professional looking!  DH wants to make one, but he has all of these modifications he wants to do.  He can never leave well enough alone.  ;)

    GL w/ color choice!

  • That looks fabulous!

I really really really want to make one but DH isn't up for it...I might try to purloin the needed tools (or some of them) from my parents house this week (like the jigsaw) and work on it in 20 minute increments during C's naps.

MIL has a guy/live in partner/boarder (weird undefined relationship) who is super handy...I wanted DH to ask him to build it for us but he said no. :(

  • Nice job!  I was going to suggest yellow for color but depending on your kitchen that may or may not work.

  • It looks great! I'd personally do a really nice dark honey or even a cherry stain to it.  But, I love stained wood rather than painted.
  • Awesome!!!

I'd go with either a rich warm red, or a chocolate brown color. Both would hide a bit of dirt better than a bright or light color ;)
