We're moving in about a week, down to Wilsonville. Does anyone have any
rec's for a good ped down near there? We'd like to find someone who's
pro-bfing and open to/supportive of alternative vax schedule. TIA
Oregon Pediatrics at Meridian Park is where we go. I see Dr. Ames...I don't know about the vaccination question but he's def. pro-bfing! Both my hubby and I like him and I like his nurse Gail...however the receptionist leaves much to be desired, so just pay attention, if he says to come in for a xx month check up, don't let her schedule you even a day early!! It matters to the state for vaccinations....you can't be a day early on the one year or you'll have to come back!
We found the best pediatrician, Monique Pritchard, who is really flexible. She's in Sellwood which isn't at all where you're looking, however, I want to let you know about her in case you can't find the right fit elsewhere.
We were originally at a more convenient big clinic with someone we thought was going to work with us on our alternative vaccination schedule, but after two months we realized it wasn't going to work. He started questioning the schedule we had agreed on (which isn't that extreme), and he couldn't answer questions about why he refused to do things like separate MMR. We have to go a little more out of our way, but Dr. Pritchard is so worth it. I've never seen a pediatrician so interested in the parents' choices and so nurturing and playful with the kids.
