We are going to Disney World in Feb. for just a few days. We will be staying in Disney.
DH has a conference, so I'm alone with the kids until early afternoon. We have dinner with the princesses booked. What else should be on our "must do" list? What is a waste of time/money?
I will have a 5 and 2 year old when we go. DD is princess obsessed.
If you have website or book rec's - I'll take 'em.
THANKS!
Re: Disney experts....
Bring/Rent a double stroller. Even is DD hasn't used on in years it's nice because there's a lot of walking and when you're by yourself it will be easier to corral the kiddos. This way you aren't chasing after the 2 year old and hoping the 5 year old follows or stays put.
Pack a lunch/dinner and bring lots of drinks. Another reason for the stroller, it can hold all your junk. You can bring as much food and drink into the park as you want so stock up on snacks/meals and water because what's available is a bit expensive and not very good.
The parades are FUN and worth going to. Eat dinner while you are waiting in line for it to start. Keeps them intertained and you don't have to stop somewhere else, eat dinner, load up, and then wait.

Epcot and Hollywood studios were a complete waste of time for us. I would do a 3:2 ratio of Magic Kingdom to Animal Kingdom. We did 3 days of MK and 2 of AK, and we still could have gone back for more. Both kids were bored with Epcot and HS after a couple of hours.
THANKS! We were thinking just sticking to MK and AK too, so this just reinforces that.
And Jennieliz - thanks for tips.
We just got back with our 5 and 2 year old girls, and we had such an amazing time. Girls LOVED MK of course. The highlight for my 5 year old was the bibbidy bobbidy boutique. For 50 bucks you can get her hair and makeup done, for $5 more you can get her nails done, and you can buy a princess dress, too, for about 60 bucks. You can also get photos done and some other add-ons. I forget what they were. But it really was great, and she felt very special. You have to be 3, so the 2 year old won't be able to do it. We did the one at Cinderella's castle. Really, it was worth the money -- such a fun experience for her. We did the $50 package and bought a dress. So fun.
My girls loved Epcot! We went twice actually. The countries were fun for them, meeting the princesses was fun, and they loved the Nemo ride and Crush the Turtle show. If you're staying at a park, do the meal plan. We're so glad we did that.
Have a great time! We had so much fun.
We went in August. It was HOT!! DD also loved the BBB at MK. We did the $55 package with nails. It was fabulous! We enjoyed the princess breakfast at epcot but other than that, we thought epcot was a waste and a ton of walking. We did enjoy HS though! It was nice to have a day of relaxing and watching shows (it kept us cool for almost a whole day...like I said August!!!). The Toy Story ride is there and DS1 LOVED that!!! He also loves CARS. Mater and L McQueen were there. It was nice to get away from the all out girl stuff for DS...plus it had a lot of the playhouse dinsey stuff that the kids just loved...
We only had 1.5 days at MK and it was too little. We didn't do downtown Disney or the waterpark. We ate at a Tavern there that was wonderful--it was thanksgiving style. A lot of the places are buffet style which are a PITA because by the time you feed DC and then go get yours; they are ready to go. We rode the most rides at MK. Loved the Mad teacups, Aladdin's magic carpet, a pooh ride, dumbo, cinderella's carosel, etc...
We love the night time parade at MK (Dreams come true) and loved watching the fireworks at the castle. It was beautiful. We did that the first time when they were well rested...
We did the meal plan and love it also! Can't wait to go again. It was fabulous memories for us. The baby stations are great for changing diapers.
