Talked to my gp and my when I was tested in Aug my TSH was 1.140 and my T4 was 0.770. This means nothing to me and I haven't had a chance to do any research. Ladies with thyroid problems what do you think? Is it worth seeing an endo or should I go back to my gp for any other tests?
Re: Got my thyroid levels-help again please
Thos are actually really good levels. Although mine were normal, they were always high side of norma which is why my doctor checked the antibodies.
I would also have your dr check your iron and B12 levels. Aside form my thyroid issues, I had very low levels of both. Once I started to take a hefty does of B12 I really started to feel better.
They checked all of that back in Aug when I first went in. Everything was normal except my Vit D was low. I took supplements for 8 weeks and now take multi vitamins every day for that and it's normal again.
Like pp said, those numbers look really good. I guess they didn't test your FT3, Free FT4 and Free FT3 or thyroid antibodies which would all be necessary for a completely thorogh picture (although most docs don't test).
Is your Vit D barely normal or on the high side. I need to be way on the high side before I feel good. I was low and they gave 8 weeks of supplements and I still take between 4000-6000 IU daily to keep me on the high side of normal.
I have Hashimoto's disease. It's an autoimmune disease where the thyroid attacks itself and you become hyperthyroid. Once enough of it is killed, then you become hypothyroid. My levels were in the hyperthyroid range. I asked dr to check my anti-thyroid antibodies. They were off the charts. Shortly after I had to start thyroid meds as a became hypothyroid.
Your levels are all in the normal range, but what's norm for one person is not ok for the next. I like my TSH around 0.5. My friend is also hypothyroid and her heart races if her TSH is that low. Make an appt with an endocrinologist. You could also have a thyroid uptake and scan done to check the function and also image your thyroid. GL!
