Any other thoughts on sleeping help?!?

Around Thanksgiving, DS spent 2 1/2 wks sleeping beautifully for 8-10hrs each night. He had all the symptoms of a growth spurt a week later, and sleep has been getting progressively worse. He's up at least 2-3xs a night now--Mon night he was up 5xs, last night 4xs--and every time he is Hungry! He is BF'd by me around 6:45am, will do 3 or 4  5oz BM bottles at daycare (depending on when I pick him up), fed by me at least once before dinner, a bottle with DH, and a bedtime feed with me before he goes into his crib between 7 and 8ish. When he wakes up in the night, it's 10-15min straight eating and right back to sleep, only to be up an hr and a half or 2hrs later. At daycare, he goes about 3hrs between bottles, but when he's with me on weekends he'll still eat every 2 hrs. He's on his 3rd cold but we didn't have this issue before; no fever or other signs of earache or worsening symptoms. He's constantly chewing on his hands and drooling. We tried some Tylenol last night in case it was teething related, and no difference. He does look at us when we eat and wants to touch the food, and he's double birth weight already, but I know he's just under the 4mos mark and still a supported sitter. What do Bumpies think: roll with it, try rice cereal, call pedi?!?

  • I'm a firm believer in mom knows best. If you feel like you LO is exhibiting signs of needing to eat more and that solids would satisfy him more than just BM, do it.

As for the supported sitter, babies do not need to sit on their own to start solids. Supported sitter is just fine.
