Car seat for grandparent's car?

I know there have been recommendations here for a good car seat for the grandparents, but I can't remember what they were.  Any ideas?  Now that we're going to be closer to my parents, it would be nice for them to have a car seat for Nate.

  • Mine use the Cosco Scenera - it's cheap, but also has good safety ratings.

We have this for DH's car & it works very well.

My in-laws have the Evenflo Triumph Advance & my parents have the First Years True-Fit.

My vote goes to the Cosco Scenara of the 3.

I was going to recommend this too--it is highly rated, and I think only about $40.. We considered it, but we usually just let our parents use one of our cars if they're keeping her and need to drive her somewhere, since it's not all that often.

  • We have the Cosco Serena as well for the 2nd seat, while I don't love it for everyday use, it would be perfect for Grandparents! I got it shipped to my house for like $45 on Walmart.com

My parents have a really cheapo one and last time we rode in their car my dad put it in and the whole thing was loose, so make sure you install it or watch them do it!!

  • Another option would be looking at a 3 in 1.  We just got the Graco Nautilus for my mom's car so that Caylee can ride in the regular convertible.  That way we don't have to buy a booster seat down the road.
