pee-pee teepees..

Any moms of baby boys actually use these?  Or something like them?  I've had a lot of people tell me that my boy will likely try to spray the walls during a changing.  If you have found them to be useful, what brands and how many should I stock up on?  I'm about a month from my due date and any help is appreciated!

Re: pee-pee teepees..

  • They're totally useless.  Boys do have a tendency to pee during diaper changes, though, so placing a clean, dry washcloth over their groin while swapping out a wet/dirty diaper for a clean one is always a good idea.

  • IMO they are a waste of money. I got one and we used it once. It got in the way.  It was so much easier to just put a diaper over him once he started peeing or if I've got nothing else, I just put my hand over it.  No big deal. Pee is sterile.

oh, you will get peed on, there is nothing likely about it!  :o)

  • Huge waste. Use a washcloth.

  • Worthless. I got some as a gift with my first DS. His stream of pee would knock the peepee teepee off and it would still spray everywhere. If I held it on it would soak through it and then leak everywhere after. Frankly, it's easier just to keep the diaper covering him while I change quickly than to fuss with one, easier and more effective.

  • My sister gave me some but I've never used them. I just don't think they could be very useful. Just learn to change him quickly!

  • eh... your gonna get peed on no matter what you do honestly... best part is... its not gross at all.. its hilarious or you just don't care... wash your hands (or stomach or hair) and move along. DH often uses he hand :)... im smarter and just point it down and let him pee on the changing table then clean that up

  • You may be lucky and not have a pee-er. DS has only peed a couple times (he's 10wks) when his diaper was off, and it's not a huge spray or anything so just results in changing his clothes and the changing pad cover.
