3-hour GD test tomorrow, any tips?

I was just told no eating or drinking anything past midnight tonight, but any other tips you guys can give me? If i don't eat for a long time I get dizzy and jittery so 'm afraid for the babies as well. I have always been like that even as a teenager, and I'm not anemic cause I've been tested for it but will I be able to handle not eating or drinking until after 3pm tomorrow? :( What should I avoid eating or drinking tonight aside from sugary foods/drinks?

  • No tips, but best of luck to you! I wasn't a fan of that test at all.

I got sick the first time I did the 3 hour and they had to stop it. I ended up rescheduling and got through it the second time ok. I ended up failing, but not by much. So now I'm doing the finger pokes and watching my diet. So far I'm managing it pretty well.

  • Your test isn't until noon?  That's kind of cruel!  My MFM also told me not to eat after midnight, but my test started at 5:30 a.m. since I'm in the hospital.  So I only  had to go 8.5 hours without eating (5.5 pre-test) instead of the 15 (12 pre-test) that you're being told to do.

I don't want to tell you something different than your doctors did, but based on my experience, you might have a little wiggle room if you wanted to eat in the middle of the night.
