TTC after 35

Newbie saying hi!

Hi all:

Just to introduce myself.  I am new here.  I am 39 and have a 2 year old.  I now find myself shocked by my secondary infertility.  I was sent to an RE after three months of trying unsuccessfully and have had one clomid cycle and one IUI that ended in a chemical pregnancy 3 weeks ago.

I'm now waiting for my next cycle so I can go back for IUI number 2.  I find myself obsessing over cycles, days past ovulation and all things fertility all day while at work and it is making me nuts!

Just want to say hi and hope to meet some others who might be feeling the same way?

Thanks

  • You've come to the right place for the fertility obsessed! (I mean that in the nicest possible sense ladies! Hope that is not offensive)  Welcome to the board. I haven't done any treatments yet- just charting/temping and going crazy as well. I am 8DPO and waiting...  I have an appt in a few weeks with the RE as it will be 6 cycles.   I'm so sorry about your CP.  I hope CD1 comes quickly for you so you can start again. There are a lot of great ladies here to commiserate with :-)

    Thanks for your response! Smile

I think we are on the same exact day.  I got a positive ovulation test last monday night so I think I am 8 DPO too!

Yeah the CP was weird because if I hadnt had the blood work done that day no one would have known, I would have just assumed it was a regular, though heavy, cycle.  I know it is "good" that it worked at all but still feels like a failure.

This month we had to try to old fashioned way so there is a chance but I'm looking forward to move on to the next IUI.  At least then you get blood results all the time so you know a lot more information about what is going on.

    The wait....ugh!
