I don't know anything about Toddler House, but there's a Montessori school not too far from there off of 34th near 290 called Montessori Children's Cottage. I checked it out when my 5-year old was a baby, and I really liked it. However, I did only check out the infant center, which is in a separate building than the preschool, so I didn't get a first hand look at it, but I read good things about it. I will say, though, that although the neighborhood it's in is decent, the road that it's actually on is filled with cheap apartments, so take that into consideration.
We ended up choosing a different montessori school closer to my work.
thanks nanner. I think I will look into montessori schools when we put him in FT. Right now we are looking for PT care only (2 days) to start off and then transition to FT.
I did tour Toddler house #4 and #6. #4 seemed very dirty looking, and the director was not very helpful with information. It just didtn seem comfy for me. I then went to the Main office which is downt he street, they were able to help me out there too. And we toured #6 on W. 43rd and loved it, and it just so happens his godmother lives next door to the school so they will be out In case of Emergency. It was very clean, they were very welcoming to our unexpected visit and the teacher was very good witht he children there.
