August 2011 Moms

First time pregnant!

This is the first time I've ever been pregnant and my husband and I are really excited. We are due on August 1st.  I went to the doctors and already had an ultrasound and had three blood tests done.  All three blood tests came back with great HCG levels. (I believe last Friday I was at 4900) But my last test came back with a little bit of a lower progesterone level.  (On Wednesday I was 15 and on Friday I was 12)  My doctor put me on progesterone suppositories and I have to go get more blood work done today.  I am getting a little nervous though because two of my good friends have had miscarriages in the last 2 months and I am not getting really that many pregnancy symptoms.  Just wanted some advice!  =)

  • This is my first time ever being pregnant as well. We have been trying for 2 years so we are excited as well. We are due on Aug. 15th. I go to the drs on the 20th. I think I will feel better once I see the dr. I cannot help but be very nervous about miscarriage as well because it took so long for us to get pregnant. I do not have many symptoms either. Mostly fatigue, slight cramping & a little bit of an increased appetite. Although, I am having off & on night sweats. I was told everyone is different and that some do not get symptoms until 6-8 weeks. I wouldnt stress too much, they say that makes it worse. Good luck to you and I look forward to sharing advice & experiences with everyone!!

  • Hello & Welcome Smile

This is also my first pregnancy and I have a similar story as you. I had my levels tested 3 times and had a first ultrasound (although we discovered it was too early to see anything) My progesterone dropped from 16.5 to 12.6 and I was placed on progesterone suppositories. I had my blood drawn again and it went up to 17.1 after beginning the progesterone.

It is so hard not to worry about the worst, but try to relax as much as possible. I have heard of many women that have had successful pregnancies after being place on progesterone suppositories!
