I tried making a doctors appt last Weds, and the lady on the phone told me to call back when I am at least one week late with my period in order to make an appt. The only reason I am concerned is because I had a leep procedure done in the past, and I want to make sure everything is ok. I thought it was kinda weird that she wouldn't even allow me to schedule my appt yet. What should I do?
Re: Doctors appt, does this sound normal?
Yea - that's weird. I called the day after I got a HPT+ (which was the day I would have gotten AF). And they let me make an appointment. Maybe they're waiting to make sure it's not chemical but I don't see why you can't make it? Maybe call back to talk to someone else?
Edited for clarity
Definitely make an appointment but you'd be surprised how quickly they could fit me in. When I called and told them the week I would be 6 weeks along, they were like "ok when that week do you want to come in" - I got my pick of the day. If i wasn't pregnant they would say "ok how is January?"
This....although I request to talk to a nurse when I call my doctors office. Last time I let the girls at the front desk give me advice (ie take Tylenol) & I ended up in the hospital for 3 days. Please make sure you get in sooner & if you can't get in at your office try to get in somewhere else where they will listen to your concerns.

That does seem really strange... what difference does it make if you schedule the appointment now? I am like you and would figure the sooner I make the appointment the better chance I have of getting the day I want. I would call back!
That being said I know for normal pregnancies, my OB office doesn't see anyone before 8 weeks. I know every office has their own policies. Maybe this is one of the weird policies your office has?
