My 2 month old is getting over her first cold but she is very congested. She normally eats 3 to 4 ounces a feeding but is barely eating 2 ounces. Is this because of the congestion? Should I do anything to make up the difference is ounces?
Aww just went thru this with DS. Have you been giving her saline drops in her nose and using the bulb syringe to help ease the congestion? Do you have a humidifier? Those things helped DS a lot. Also, does she cry when she's eating? If so, there may be more to the cold like a sore throat or ear infection... it hurts them to swallow. But definitely try the drops, syringe & humidifier if u haven't already, they hate it but it really does help!

My daughter is just getting over her first cold. Our pediatrician said not to worry as long as she is still wetting diapers, has no fever, and doesn't seem limp/lethargic.
I EBF, so it's hard to tell exactly how much she gets, but she was much less interested in eating during the height of the congestion. The doctor said we could give her a few milliliters of Pedialyte by syringe if we wanted, but that we should really just watch the diapers, temp, and behavior.
