I have two girls, ages 3 & 6. I feel like I'm going nutty some days from their constant chattering, arguing & questions. Oh....the questions... good Lord, those never stop! They are both extremely verbal & I think my 6yo really just likes the sound of her own voice so she wants to use it as much as possible lol. I honestly don't know how you all with more than two do it, because I'm going crazy! I will admit to using TV more than I should, just so they will be quiet for awhile. In the car- it's next to impossible. It's actually hard for me to concentrate on my driving sometimes because they start in- one will feel "slighted" because she is trying to also tell me something, then they end up screaming at each other, then I yell to get them to both be quiet. Sigh.
I truly do try to give each of them an ear- make sure that when one interrupts I remind them to wait until sister is finished, etc. But we end up in this situation where they're both screaming from frustration at the other one not shutting up multiple times a day. Just looking for suggestions or maybe even just some understanding from someone else dealing with life in "stereo". Moms of older kids, does this get better? Please?
Re: Constant input
All 3 of mine usually talk all at the same time. We have a loud house and I've just gotten used to it.
I tend to think it doesn't get better. My bff has 2 sisters and when we're all visiting together my ears start to ring like I've been at a concert.
That cracks me up! I know that part of it is that I didn't grow up with siblings anywhere near my age (all 10+ yrs older) and I just didn't have that relationship. I think I'd at least understand it more between my girls if I had had it myself, kwim?
