So Mad at MIL

So I just need to vent. We told MIL she could tell her extended family on Thanksgiving...just family. Today I went on face book and saw on DH's profile (he hasn't been on FB for practically a year) that one of his mother's friends posted a week ago "congratulations on the twins we are so excited yada yada." Problem is we have only told some close friends. I wanted to wait until after the NT scan.....now we have friends asking questions and we look like the bad guys for not telling them sooner. So angry!

P.S I already can not stand my MIL she did everything possible to keep us from getting married, she and FIL always give nasty comments, told DH I must have went on fertility pills behind his back...etc. Needless to say they won't be a big part of our childrens' lives...

That is horrible and I can completely relate. My MIL told my BFF's grandma even though we did not want anyone except immediate family to know until 12 weeks. I told her that also.  I need a cerclage and was planning on telling everyone after that. My BFF already knew before my MIL so she wasn't upset that I didn't tell her. This did make me so made and I already don't like her. I will not be letting her see the baby the first day and she is upset over that. I really want my own private time with just my husband, me and the baby.

 

ETA: she told at 6 weeks against my wishes.

My MIL is annoying too. Always has rude comments for me luckily she does not live in the states. She is always asking me if I have just woken up, since I do not work and stay at home. ( I am in the military, and go to school full time) yet that isn't enough for her. When we told her we were expecting she asked "what are you guys going to do? And asked dh how are you going to finish school?? I was so upset bc it sounded like she was promoting an abortion. With our second she said wow you guys should stop. She isn't on my favorite list and when I heard her say that over the phone I shouted I am not asking for her support!! But she expects us to go to the Dominican Republic for a wedding in March. Told DH I am not going!!

Ugh. Yeah because it's so easy to go on fertility drugs behind your spouses back. How dare she accuse you of that! I am so sorry. Thats so rude and annoying for her to have done.

Wow - I am so sorry you have to deal with that. Although, it sounds like you are used to dealing with her doing ridiculous things. That is how my relationship was with my MIL before she stopped speaking to my husband because he asked her to apologize for saying nasty things about me that were ridiculous and untrue.

Wow!!! I'm so glad my family and my husbands family are not like that!!! Very sorry you have to deal with that!
