Trouble TTC

opk question

Ok, so I am using OPKS  (First Response), I have had positives the past 6 days testing at 10am. I try testing later in the day, 2pm or 5pm and they are always negative, not sure why, i dont hold my pee as long later in the day so maybe thats it....but I have never had 6 days of positive opks.... I used opks CD10-CD18, they started being positve on 13. I was on 50mg clomid this month, not sure if that has anything to do with it...Im not temping and have not seen an EWCM yet this month.

just wondering what your thoughts were..... :)

Re: opk question

  • Hey wood! Did you use an HCG trigger along with the clomid?

  • Not exactly the answer to your question, but OPKs never really worked for me.  After taking Clomid, my RE opted to trigger ovulation instead of leaving it up to nature because my results had been so unclear to begin with.  It sounds like yours are kinda unclear, too.  GL!

  • Hi there, I was told not to use OPK's when using Clomid because it could give a false postive. If you are being monitored by your RE through bloodwork and ultrasounds there is no need for OPKs because either you will trigger and force it or your bloodwork will indicate it. I would check with your dr if you are unsure. GL!

Im not being monitored, I was told its safe to start testing 3 days after last clomid pill, which was day 9 for me. I started testing on day 10 but didnt get a positive till days 13-19. I have very regular cycles, this is really odd....

Its really not safe to take Clomid without being moniored and someone just posted about how Clomid causes false positives on OPK's. If you are still getting postives I would call your Dr. And please think about being monitored!!
