Trying to Get Pregnant

Does anyone take cranberry supplements?

I tried googling cranberry supplements and pregnancy and all that but there's not much I can find.

I take a cranberry supplement daily because I am really prone to UTI's. Since a cranberry is fruit, I don't see the harm in taking these while TTC lol, but I have no idea. (I have a doctors appt. next wednesday for my boobs, so I can always ask there, but that's too far away!! Stick out tongue)
I was just wondering if any other TTC-ers also take them?

Re: Does anyone take cranberry supplements?

  • I got a UTI when i was pregnant, to the point i had blood in my urine, it was horrible. My doctor told me to drink all natural Cranberry juice once a day while I was pregnant. Your very sensitive to UTI's and Yeast Infections whilepregnant.  So it should be fine for the supplement while your TTC.

Ughhhhh! I've had one of those once, it lasted almost TWO weeks, it was some of the most miserable pain of my life. It was after that one that I started religiously taking the cranberry supplements and I have not had a single UTI since. I only occasionally feel like I'm going to get one if I don't drink enough water.

  • My urologist actually recommended it. He did tell me the supplements are the best thing someone TTC with UTI issues can do. :)
  • Thanks for the input, ladies. =]
I'm trying to start prepping myself for the whole TTC process.

My brain is even prepping itself and giving me phantonm "pregnancy brain".
I got a small glass of orange juice to take my vitamins and by the time I finished the glass (not even 8 oz haha) I couldn't remember if I took my vitamins or not.

  • Me too! Well, I used to get UTIs very frequently and since I started taking cranberry supplements, I don't get them nearly as often. Now, it's maybe once a year. But I just had my annual check up a few weeks ago and pulled out my cranberry supplements and prenatal vitamins for the OB/GYNs to look at and she said they were fine. Smile
