Okay this is a long shot- but if anyone's going to be able to help us out it's going to be you ladies.
For some reason the name Hemingway has stuck with me. Now I'm not going to name my daughter Hemingway for a number of reasons, but is there any other names with the style or flow like Hemingway? The only one I can come up with is Hannah and DH vetoed that one. The name doesn't necessarily have to start with an H, but just I guess kind of flow like Hemingway.
This is really hard to explain, but I thought I'd ask and see what you guys come up with.
For what it's worth mn is Elizabeth and the only name that we can even remotely agree on (although neither one is in love with it) is Brynn.
TIA!
Re: Something like Hemingway?
Hermione?
I am having an easier time coming up with names related to Hemingway himself- his characters & his life.- Pauline, Pilar, Mariel, etc.
Just tried a search for you on Nameberry, but came up with nothing but Galway, a boy's name.
How about Haydee, pronounced Eye-deh? I've always liked this name, but can't use it for family reasons.
While I love some HP, I don't think DH would go with Hermione. haha
Emerson was on our short list for awhile, maybe it's time to bring it back. I agree with the E thing though, it could be too many. Her initials would be EEC.
Okay, so when I break down Hemingway, I hear a soft sound that does a loop-de-loop with the three syllables. The Herminone suggestion is good - close to what I'm getting from Hemingway, with a bonus of actually starting with the same two letters.
Desdemona gives me a similar vibe, but it doesn't have the soft sounds that say, Charlemagne (M) would.
But, I think I found one that's closer...Evangeline. Not soft-sounding, but literary, loop-de-loop and has an ending that seems to fade when I say it - LEEN and WAY.
Another option would be to do a first and a middle that give you the same feeling or sense that Hemingway does.

I second Evangeline!
My first thought was Ernestine, but as with pp's suggestion you get EEC, which makes me think of ee cummings.
So then I thought of flower names like Heather or Heliotrope
Ella-Mae
Hannah-Rae
Emma-Kay
I don't know why, but hyphenated names are all I can come up with. I do like the previously suggested Evangeline.

My first thought was Remington. Which I hate to even mention because I HATE it. LOL
Second thought was Calliope, not sure why.
Haydee pronounced like Eye deh? Like Ida? I don't even see how that's possible!
Emily
it's short, but does loop-de-loop and has all the soft sounds of Hemingway.
Another option would be the place name, Hanalei. But I prefer Emily.
