I wasn't crazy about Meck. Bridal on Park Rd. i bought my dress at the wedding mall, but bought it off the rack. I had a good experience but have heard horror stories.
There was a great little shop in Cottswold that I tried, no idea if it's still there, but they were great!
Definitely check out New York Bride. I bought my dress there in 2004 and the service was fantastic! I think they have moved locations to South Blvd....check their website.
I got my wedding dress at a great little locally owned shop in Lexington. It's called "Lasting Impressions," and it's also known as Bruce's (which is a tuxedo/bridal shop attached). They were not pushy or snobby. I bought my dress there because it was one of the few shops where I felt really comfortable with the staff. They had a great selection, too. I got a Maggie Sotero gown, but they have lots of designers. Have fun.

They are awesome and yes they moved off of South Blvd close to uptown - - also check out J Majors. GL!
Re: CLT area bridal salons ?
I actually went to Raleigh for my dress, but did look at a small place in Cornelius called The Lily Rose.
I had a few friends that bought their dresses from Nitsa's and they had a wonderful experiece there.
