HELP! Has anyone successfully changed nighttime routine?

I have fallen into the terrible habit of rocking DD with a bottle to get her to go to sleep at night and I know it has to stop. I sometimes even put her in the crib with the bottle because she doesnt have any teeth yet so I wasnt worried about it. I know it needs to change though. I just dont know how else to get her to sleep! Has anyone had this problem? How did you fix it? Any of these sleep methods actually work?? TIA!

  • Take baby steps. First I would not give her the bottle right before bed but maybe 30 min earlier than you usually do.  Then when it's time for her actual bedtime, I would just rock her and see how she reacts to that.  If she doesn't scoff at not having a bottle, then you can hopefully transition into not rocking her to sleep but putting her in her crib drowsy but awake.
  • Yeah thats not a bad idea. I havent ever tried just rocking without the bottle so I really have no idea how she would react. Maybe I can sit with her on the couch and cuddle for a but with the bottle and then trying rocking. Thanks!
