Tip from a friend

My friend has a 6 month old so I asked her for her most valuable tips and she gave me one that I thought was really good. She said when her sister had her baby, that first black sticky poo gave the baby a terrible diaper rash bc it was so hard to clean off.  So she advised my friend to coat the baby's butt with Vaseline soon after birth and that made the sticky poo not stick to baby's butt.

So her advice: Have baby, snuggle/bond/feed, douse butt in Vaseline!

That's a great tip! I have heard it is like molasses. I will try this for sure.

One of the books I read recommended using A&D ointment on the baby's bottom to prevent it from sticking.

We teach it in the hospital to all of our patients, it works like a charm!
