Re: What are your fav family pjs from

  • Don't.  One of the MOST ridiculously dorky looks ever is a grown married couple dressed in PJs to match their kids.  Seriously.  And any dude who agrees to that clearly has been entirely emasculated.

I admit that I must not hold the majority opinion since several stores sell that possibility, but I personally cringe every single time I see it.

  • I'm going to have to ditto gibs. I didn't know that people really did this! The only thing worse is matching Christmas dresses. Or matching easter dresses. My dad and brother used to have matching easter suits. LOL.
  • Loading the player...
  • We wear Holiday Pj's every year...sometimes not matching but it is "our thing" and love to do it:) I already bought the girls matching ones so these would be just for me and dh...we are corny like that!
  • What about not getting "Christmas" print pjs and you getting a cute red pair and get your H something that's festive but doesn't necessarilly match.  Like lounge pants and a shirt.  All in the same color family but not all matchy matchy.  It may tone down the cheese factor.

  • My advice?  Let the kids wear matching pj's and just buy new ones for you and your DH that DON'T match eachother or the kids.  That would be a HUGE improvement.
  • OK, so now which pj's are your fav from that site?
  • I'm sure your DH *loves** this tradition. LOL!

That's getting out of hand! What is the big deal to have matching pj's? The man's is a plain top and matching lounging pants to the ladies. I like the blue and white cabin ones from companykids.com

This. Dorkiest thing ever. Almost as bad as those families who wear matching shirts on vacation.

  • I can understand wanting to coordinate, but 100 dollars for a pair of pj's for you and a pair of pants for your husband?? Can't you look at Kohls or Target?

I am not trying to be rude it just seems like a lot of money to spend on matching adult jammies.

Or matching track suits at the mall. Although I gotta say, at least the pajamas are a bit better since they're typically only worn in the privacy of one's own home.

We've actually considered getting matching pajamas for our Christmas card picture this year with the understanding that everyone who saw it would find it hilarious and know that it is a JOKE. But, I can't justify spending that kind of $$$ it just for a joke either, so eh...

  • Funny joke. Dumb holiday tradition. Sorry, I'm trying to be nice, but come on. Family pj's? Do men really wear pj's? I thought they all just slept in their underwear. Or nude. Perhaps that's skewing my view of the whole matching family pj's, but I've never known a man that wore pajamas. I don't really wear them, either.

    this.

Pajamas are a foriegn concept to my DH.  And I just can't imagine wanting PJ's to match my kids. I like my robe, tank top, pajama bottoms just fine.

I didn't know men wore pajamas.

  • Also has to be asked...if you wear them every year, does this mean you have MULTIPLE pairs of matching pj's? Do you wear them each only once? One pair of matching is more than enough....yet alone new ones every year...lol.

The ones you posted are cute (for the kids). I can't get into the adult aspect though..sorry.

If you looked they are lounge pants, not pj's and yes my dh wears them. No, he does not wear PJ's but lounge pants and a t-shirt to bed. That is typical for all the adults I know:) It may seem dumb to you but we like to do it! So on Christmas morning or any morning for that matter what does your dh wear when he wakes up and goes to the breakfast table? I am sure he still isn't naked, right?

  • He usually eats in his boxers, or he'll throw on his jeans. Again, this is all I've ever seen men do.

So far we never actually had exactly matching pj's. We get holiday ones and wear them and it looks super cute for pics on Christmas morning. We don't only wear them on Christmas Eve/Day but the entire winter. Since we typically got them at Target or another store that they were not really good quality they only last that winter so to answer your question no, we don't have any other ones. For my dh it would be a flannel plain shirt and lounge pants with deer or plaid stripes...not crazy!

  • That's subject to opinion. A flannel shirt with deer pants is pretty crazy IMO.

I would feel really funny with my dh walking around the house and eating breakfast with just his underwear on. What if someone showed up at your house? Would he answer the door in his underwear? That is why lounge pants are great!

Heidisean - why are you so annoyed that the prevailing opinion is that the matchy-match family PJs are laughable?  Stop protesting.  It's unbecoming.  Do what you want.  And post a pic for sure for our amusement, okay?  TYVM!

  • Thanks gibs for your OK to do what I want! I guess you don't read comments well because we are NOT doing matchy-match family pj's. I still don't find it "laughable" and I can comment just like you do. What I do find laughable is that you care soo much and so does GHM. It is nothing new that me and GHM bang heads all the time...so whats your problem?
  • It's boring here and it happens to be hilarious. There's not much else to poke fun at today--men in christmas jammies is an easy target. That's my excuse, I can't speak for gibs. I didn't know that we bang heads all the time, but thanks for telling me!
  • Please, GHM you are always making snarky comments to my posts.

Yes, you can, this time.  Ditto!

  • Heidi - I now vote for the look that this family is sporting:

Because if you're going to go dorky-matchy-matchy it might seem hard to beat this look!

  • imagegoodheartedmommy:

PERFECT for playing "Little Slut on the Prairie" or something!?!?

  • Well, of course. Don't you play that all the time! I even take down my hair at night for this :) It's part of the strip tease. I have a bonnet on at first.

  • I gotta agree with everyone else.  Matching jammies for the girls = cute.  On grown ups though, it's pretty ridiculous.
  • Heidi you know what... I don't get it and I don't want to do it but I think it's great that you have a tradition and that your girls will be able to look back at photos and remember a fun Christmas and laugh at how dorky their parents are.  And I don't mean that sarcastically even though I think it sounds that way.  I really do think that traditions are important and if this is going to be one of yours that's great.  :)

  • oh my gosh people, you are being so rude. Who cares if her family likes to wear matching pajamas. I think it is cute and I could think of way worse traditions. I could say so much more but I will stop it at that.

Says the poster with a pic of her DH and kids in matching outfits.  Grain of salt.

  • I think we are going to get ours from Pajamagram.com. My issue is that I need a pair in an infant size for DD.

I don't see what all the negative hoopla is about. It's a fun tradition, and I'm grateful that my husband is easy going enough to be a sport. And no, he will not be wearing a sissy one piece as previously pictured. We will probably go with something like this:

For the record I think the naysayers are all probably fat bitches who are jealous that they can't have matching family pjs as they don't come in a size 5x.

    This.

(J-Liz, I think is the second time I've "thissed" you today.  LOL)

It's totally not my thing, but as any one who's friends with me on FB this week has seen, I love looking back at old pics.  And laughing at how dorky I look.  Good stuff.
