I was wondering if DS (4 yr 5 mo) would enjoy a Tag... Is this something most would think is a good idea? FWIW, DS is a total on-the-go all the time type kid. I question whether he would get much enjoyment out of it.
We got DS a Tag last Christmas (he was 3y8m). He loves it. Still uses it probably 4-5x week, and a hour or more each time. We also got some earphones so he can take it in the car and not annoy everyone. We have probably 10 books for him, they all can read by page, by word, and have games/activities. There are even a couple out now that are strictly games.
We got DD the Tag Jr. IMO, it was a waste...she was 2y1m. She would always steal the Tag when Ben wasn't using it. We have about 5 books, I think. I'm holding onto it purely because E&G will be able to use it soon (and hopefully they like it more). We got Nat the purple Tag when she PT'd as her reward, and she loves it also. She can't do a lot of the games, but some will be like "touch the animal that makes the mooooo sound" and she can do that. She also knows where to touch so it reads the entire page.
I think it is a great quiet time toy. Ben is phasing out of naps, so he can take it to his room when he's resting.
Cam - this is nothing like the Leapster2 which is a gaming system....if you want something like an e-reader for your DD, maybe check the VTech v.reader or the FP iXL. I think they are more for readers. Ben isn't reading yet. I think the v.reader is purely book related, and the iXL has game cartridges as well as the book part.
hopefully that helped a little. i love the Tag - definitely money well-spent for us.
Re: Link to the Tag Reader post(s)?
I didn't bookmark either, but I have a question.

DD will be 5 in Jan. and is an avid reader.
My main question is which one to get DD? I know a couple different ones were listed as good buys.
